minden jó, ha a vége jó • all good if ends good

Ennek a ténynek ismeretében tehát felesleges aggódni a jövőn: pihenésről jó ideig szó sincs.

It's not the end until it's all good. :-) That's kind of the way I see this past year, although I didn't come up with this piece of wisdom. The timing of our happy ending was perfect calendar-wise, and by closing time, everything had settled, except the lines on my face. I'm afraid they need a bit more time. The end of the holidays is drawing near, the frozen-frosty storyland of Christmas is just a hazy memory from the distance of a few days. The thaw made the world gray again, and it's like it all never even happened. But I'm not upset, because my favorite part is still ahead! The “this year, for the first time...” game. Which actually isn't a game at all! Way back when, xy recorded the big events of the past year in his Bible each Christmas. That's what we've been doing for a while now. Not in the Bible, of course, we write what we want to remember on the wall, and not at Christmas, but on New Year's Eve, but it works all the same. We leave everything behind so quickly during the year, we move past the obstacles almost without a trace, with no celebration. This little ritual helps appreciate things. This year is slowly taking shape in my head, and despite the favorable outcome, I say it was a mistake to toast with carbonated mineral water last New Year's Eve – we were asking for trouble. But I can assure everyone that I will be very careful this year, maybe even from the early morning of the 31st. If it helps!?
The glory belongs to my husband, He is the hero of this year! He moved mountains and surpassed the impossible day after day. I admire how he keeps on going ahead tirelessly (though sleep-deprived), with stubborn determination. He blazes a trail for us kindly, but with extraordinary firmness. He methodically brushes the vipers aside, and he is forever smiling – he says he gains strength from us. When he says that, I feel ashamed because I freak out more and more often. Most of the time I only see that everything is in vain, everything is overwhelming... I'm drowning! But that's not the point, it's what he sees. Finding the right balance. That's what I should always keep in mind. I don't know where my mind keeps going off track... but I've decided that I will pay attention from now on. I won't go into detail about the hardships of this year, they've lost importance. I don't mind that we had them, they make life more colorful. And I shouldn't be at all surprised that the greater the task we undertake, the greater strength we need to accomplish it. Since we can't sit still in lukewarm water, we keep setting bigger and more distant goals for ourselves. So, knowing this, it's no use worrying about the future. Resting will not be in the picture for quite a while.
The next year is starting with a great adventure, we're not expecting any boring, routine days. We're not pondering anymore, we've decided to dive in... and if we will be up to our necks in problems... we'll solve them! … the same way we have done so far each time. It might take longer, but the story can only end happily. The motto: “It's only impossible if you stop to think about it!” (Pirate Captain)
I wish you all fair winds! :-)
